The veristic surrealism is well-know due to Salvador Dali paintings on which the painter depicted traditional subjects but the figures were exaggerated, what was made to achieve a superior reality.
Surrealism automatism was not in painting merely, but it was widely used in writing. Surrealism automatic writing was widely practiced by the writers of that time. Literary surrealism with automatic writing began due to the activities of Louis Aragon and Philippe Soupault, the authors of the literary journal «Littérature». With the lapse of time «The Magnetic Fields» (Les Champs Magnétiques) by Breton and Soupault appeared. As the number of surrealism automatic writing increased the group of artists and writers developed.
The movement had great influence and hardly there were a field which the ideas of surrealism had passed by. Painting art was especially influenced by the movement, plethora of the artists sharing the surrealism ideas appeared during that period. Surrealism with it's unusual expression of feelings and thoughts was opposed to pure representational art. Surrealism modified many times but it never disappeared.
