Modern Art and Surrealism. Contemporary Art Sales

Surrealism is one of the leading movements of the 20th century. The ancestors of the style in the graphic arts are Italian painter Paolo Uccello, the British poet and artist William Blake, and the Frenchman Odilon Redon. From 1924 such artists as Max Ernst, Jean Arp, and the American painter and photographer Man Ray were among the members of the movement. Later on other members joined the group, including the Catalan painter Salvador Dalí, the most talked about member of the group.

At the end of the 19th century Art Nouveau was formed and the Art Deco Movement became a follow-up style of the Art Nouveau. Amongst the other art movements of contemporary period art of the 20th century are abstract movement, Pop and Op Art Movement (Optical Art).
