Impressionist Artist. Artist and His Style
Impressionism artist style originated in the 19th century with the participation of Edgar Degas, Renoir, Monet, and Pissarro. The artist style was named after "Impression, Sunrise" painting by Claude Monet. Impressionism introduced a new style, rash, bold, colors which are directly applied on canvas. This was not acceptable by oil painters. The goal of Impressionist artist is to capture the subject and the moment. Impressionism artist style appeared as a rejection, Impressionism artists the French Academy revealed a lot of their own personality through their visible brush strokes and use of direct colors. Black color appeared almost never on their paintings. Being rejected by the French Academy they were unable to sell and display their works.Impressionist artist style was described as unfinished and sketchy work by critics. The critical art community wrote most of the artists off, Monet and Cezanne were singled out. "Impression, Sunrise" painting was defined as worse than a wallpaper. The artists had nothing to do but to display independently until 1894.
The Impressionism group remained cohesive for a very short time because of difference of opinion and some of the artists distanced themselves from the group. However this artist style spread into another areas, such as music and literature. Impressionist artist managed to present a new view to the artistic world. Impressionism can be regarded a kind of revolution in the world of art.
